Alf`s Ice Cream and Burgers in McMinnville

This place is truly a classic place to visit. We got their special which was a 1/4 pound burger, fry and drink for 8.25 each. Everything was fresh and not wilted. My son got the chicken tenders and fries. Yum! Ice is to crave with flavors you don't see anymore. Worth the drive

Nancy joes up the street is by far much much better.an much bigger twice as big so i recommend that nany joes in mcminnville on the same street opposite side of the sreet.but thus in preety good its been open since 1962.

The wait can be long sometimes but the food is worth it.The staff are amazing and make every visit pleasant.

The service was great. The waitress was wiping tables off with a bleach solution before anyone could sit down. Great idea. The food was as always, real good.

Excellent hot dogs and burgers. I was too full to try the ice cream so we’ll be back. My date said it was the best burger she’s had in a long while. Special sauce on point too.

I have not eaten ice cream that good in years!! And I love all the antique decor on the shelves. Great service!

One of our favorites from back when our granddaughter was young, and also my mother-in-law would buy us ice cream as newly weds a while back:)Burger and Fries last week without the bun.Condiments fresh; Burger was done perfectly. Fry's hot and salted just right.The wait-person was very friendly and courteous, plus food was served with good regards to sanitation.Little Garden area is decorated beautifully and the area was very clean.Kudos Alf's!

I really love how many flavors of ice cream are there and the burgers are great. The only downside is the teenagers that work there it was 20 minutes until closing time and they locked the doors and only let their friends in.

Alas makes the best burgers and crinkle cut fries. Delish!

Unfortunately when I went here with my son, the monkey was not present. My son nearly cried upon finding Elvis' watchfull eyes would not be staring at us as we ate. I myself am a monkey enthusiast so I was elated to find the large amount of monkey decor. Very good food.

Located right on Pacific Highway, this is a place we always passed by and wanted to visit. Gladly, we finally did! The burgers are pretty par for this type of joint. Large portions and tasty. However, the fries sauce and ice cream/milk shakes are quite delicious and I recommend trying a sample. They also have dcent outdoor seating that would be pleasant in warm weather.

Place is really good! Definitely stop in and enjoy a burger/ice cream joint how they used to be and taste. Not fast food.....MUCH BETTER!!!

I had an Elk burger here and it was excellent. Cooked well, tasted great. They are grilling to order, so expect a slight wait.

We love the old fashioned burger joint feel of Alf's - and the food is always delicious. My favorite is their veggie burger - it is always SO good! Their outside area is a nice feature when the weather is good.

The burgers a re great, a little small on their own, unless you get a double. The ice cream is also great. I'm a big fan of the peanut butter shake. All of the ice cream is made by hand too.

The ice cream is great and especially the root beer floats. We have yet to order a burger but that is planned for.

Busy but go for the food. And ice cream And shakes. Never disappointed.

I loved this throwback to yesteryear place. The food was better than the fast food places. Real ice cream milk shakes. Indoor and outdoor sitting. You'd think this would be more of a college hangout with Linfield next door. Perhaps during the weekday between classes. I will be coming back.

Great ice cream.

We went there for ice cream and were not disappointed at all! My husband ordered a banana split, it came with 3 different ice creams and toppings of his choice and was ginormous! I ordered a shake and chose a strawberry coconut and pineapple, it was AMAZING! Real chunks of pineapple and strawberry made it a new fav!

AMAZING food! Highly recommend! Definitely a must go in the McMinnville area. To make is even better at times they actually have a live monkey with its own zoo like enclosure!

Awesome food, wonderful shake, amazing employees with great service! Only small blemish was a kind of yucky bathroom, otherwise perfect place!

Great atmosphere, more than the basic diner fare, any flavor ice cream imaginable, and a monkey named Elvis! How can you go wrong? LOL!

They have good burgers. And the fact that they have homemade ice cream is a big reason we stop there. Said I got to say it is really expensive. We will go back but it will either be for burgers or ice cream.

Ok burgers. Shake was better. Very slow though, so I don't recommend going if you are hangry or in a hurry.

Great roadside burgers and miscellaneous fried sides. Very very good milkshakes, had a chocolate banana shake and a blackberry shake, both delicious.

The old fashion atmosphere the home town welcome feeling you get from the employees that work there and delicious food made to order. Definitely a good place to eat I'll be going back again in the future.

If we have a new Covid surge here it will start at Alf's. 4 customers and I was the only one masked up. The person in front of me actually let out a loud "Whew!" I suppose in order to register how hot it was. I could only imagine little CV19 beachballs blowing out onto the food being prepared. I left in disgust as workers did not seem to care.

I dont give places positive reviews if they allow animals! While traveling from Salem to Mcminnville we stopped here for dinner and we saw a couple come in carrying a dog.... very unacceptable! Also they use sweet pickles which is disgusting they should use dill. Would not recommend coming here.

Wonderful food, kind social staff. Monkey wasn't there, but that's ok since his room is being renovated. I'm really used to my parents traditional Uzbek dishes, but this was great!

The food was fantastic! The service was spectacular. A little to much coffee syrup in the milkshake. I will visit again when I'm back in McMinnville.

Food and ice cream are amazing. Staff was okay at best. They didn't notice I was standing at the counter to order for almost 10 minutes. I had to flag the gal down. The other gal was very chatty and told me her life's story including her mom smoking pot all the time. Food was a dream. Service left something to be desired.

Great local burger joint and ice cream shop! Started going to Alf’s when I went to college in McMinnville, and I stop in every time I’m in town. Great food, shakes, quality, and service!
